I’m doing a residency at Montalvo Arts Center this June. I’ve moved into this house/studio. There are some amazing artists staying nearby: current fellows
I’m going to be part of a panel discussion on Green Issues in Ceramics at the NCECA conference in Tampa, Florida. Robert Harrison is moderating. Peter Chartrand and Lee Akins will be presenting on the logistics of how to incorporate sustainable practices into the studio production of ceramic ware. I’m going to be addressing some of the conceptual elements of sustainable ceramics. I’ll be showing work by artists who incorporate ideas of sustainability into their ceramic objects, installations, and interventions. This is the first time sustainable practices and concerns have been formally incorporated into the program at NCECA.
